White Moon
White Moon
Sailor Uranus
24; White Moon Senshi

-------------------------------------
General Information
-------------------------------------
Aliases : Amara Anna Julian, Mara.
Rank : Outer Senshi.
Status : Sailor Senshi.
Powers : Manipulation of energy from the wind/sky; slight clairvoyance (“hearing” the wind/prophetic dreams shared with Michelle); and the Talisman she carries: the Space Sword.

Physical Description :
Amara’s appearance is often described as completely ambiguous, and often seriously dependent upon her mood. One day she could be masculine, if she felt inclined to be so. The next, she could be wearing tight jeans and a plaid top tied off under her breasts and hardly buttoned at all. Or maybe she could be a mix of the two, with her tomboy side coming clean and true, with a bit of make-up, faded and ripped but fitted jeans, a tank-top and a leather jacket. She is as changeable, fashion-wise, as the winds she has tamed, and none has ever been able to figure out how she will portray herself next. This comes from her perception that gender, like sexuality, is completely fluid, and so she hasn’t consigned herself to one demographic of clothing since she was thirteen years old. Of course, this is merely how she dresses.

In build, she is tall and lean, her muscles deceptively small, but more powerful than even those of the Jovian Senshi. Her sandy-blonde hair is kept cropped short, but the color does tend to vary by the seasons; it will fade in the summer, bleached almost white with how much time she spends out of doors, while during the winter, it may look almost brown, as she has no care for the cold of snow and the activities it presents (this is perhaps because her mother died in winter), and so she remains in doors for almost the entirety of it. Her skin is the light shade of tan that suggests she spends just as much time in doors as she does out of it, and the only scars which mar its expanse are from sports or Senshi matters. She is just two inches above six feet in height, and weighs 150lbs. Her figure is relatively boyish, but the curves are there, even if only slight, and her breasts are small, though they are there as well. Her
hands are rather boney, and her fingers are the long, tapered affair which most see on pianists (one of which she happens to be). Though her face is angular and androgynous, her eyes stand out in that they are an extremely startling, arresting mix of the coldest sliver and the hardest emerald known to man.

Play-By : Agyness Deyn.

History :
History:
Though Amara’s childhood, in its entirety, was thoroughly unremarkable; however, the fact that it was unremarkable was what, indeed, truly made it remarkable. At least, it was unremarkable by the standards of other rather wealthy children. She may not have been wealthy enough to have servants of any kind, but she knew from a young age that her family – rather her parents and her mother’s family – was well off. Of course, that never had meant that she got anything that she wanted; no, she knew the meaning of hard work at a young age as well. She never really had a close bond with her father, but she loved her mother dearly; the woman would teach her certain ladylike things, but it had always seemed that Kazeko could understand that her daughter just wasn’t meant for the life of a lady of status, so she allowed the young tomboy to be as wild as she pleased – so long as she got A’s and wore the girls’ uniform. To the fiery, high-spirited girl, these were small concessions to make, and so she made them without much complaint. Besides that, however, she enjoyed being smart, especially if it meant that she was smarter than the rest of her class. Amara’s life changed dramatically, however, when she was eight years old. Her mother, always a strong-willed woman, had died of a heart condition that the doctors had caught too late. This left the young blonde with but one parent, and an extremely distant one at that. It was then, however, that she learned of her father’s profession: he was a detective, one of the very best in all of Kyoto. She finally understood, then; it explained why he was so distant, why he was never warm or affectionate to her. He had only wanted to protect his wife and child. Of course, this also meant that she really had no relationship with her father, and that she became extremely independent very quickly. The next two years were quiet; she continued to attend one of the most exclusive elementary schools in Kyoto, her grades were always at the top of her class, she was the track star even at such a young age, and she never had any friends. The next bump in the road came when she turned ten.

Prior to this, her hair had always been worn long, in a braid more often than not – firstly because Kazeko wanted it long, and then she kept growing it as a sign or respect and mourning for the woman’s passing – and it had slowly become tiresome. She cut it, and when her father found out, they had one of the few fights they would ever have; he also hit her one of the few times he ever would. For a year after that, she didn’t see her father at all, as he would always be gone before she woke, and return home after she was in bed. She relished in the silence, but couldn’t deny that she, in some screwed up way, missed the silent, steady presence that her father had always been in her life. It was, in truth, almost as if he had left completely. On her twelfth birthday, he returned, but neither spoke of what had transpired between them. Her middle school experience mirrored that of her elementary almost exactly, save for the
fact that she was now older, and coming more into herself. She didn’t hit puberty and sexuality until she was fourteen, and even then, it was still hard to tell she was a girl. She had always known that she liked girls more than boys, but now a new dimension was added to this. It went against everything she had ever been taught as child, and as she tried to understand and come to grips with herself, she began to rebel against authority which there never really was. And, eventually, though it was a long and awkward process, she accepted it as a part of herself. She was fourteen by the time she was at peace with everything. Amara came out to her father about half a year before she turned fifteen. Along with participating in the second fight she had ever had with her father, her father also raised his hand to her for the second time in four years. This time, however, it was a full-on beating. He believed, it seemed, she needed to be taught a lesson and put into her place. That, in the end, just made her rebel harder. She bought a boys’ uniform with her own money, and never again donned her girls’ uniform; in fact, she burned it. She became even more of loner than she had ever been before, all but one of the very few friends she had ever had scattering as soon as she showed up in the different uniform.

However, this wasn’t the worst thing that happened. One evening, on her way home from track practice, she was cornered in a back street by three boys from her class. Amara fought as best she could, and she managed to take two of them out, along with injuring the leader, but this merely sealed her fate. She was raped, and when she was found – unconscious and bloody, with her clothes torn –by her father and newly-minted step-mother, Chiyo, she was informed that she had brought it upon herself. They told her, in no uncertain terms, that since she “chose” to be homosexual and “chose” to defy convention and call attention to herself, that – she deserved what happened to her. She responded by running away soon after, just before her fifteenth birthday; her parents disowned her after that. Some months later, which she spent living on the streets, Amara met Michelle, and after a period of time spent denying what she knew she could not escape from, the blonde accepted her destiny as a Sailor Soldier. By the time everything was said and done, Amara had parted with the best friend she had ever had (one Samantha Taylor, also the only one who had remained by her side through all the crap since she was twelve), and noted the passing of her sixteenth with nothing more than a sneer. When one was on a mission to prevent the end of the world, things like birthdays didn’t really matter anymore. The two Outer Senshi spent the next four years traveling about Japan, searching for the object of their mission: the holders of the three Talismans, which would summon the Holy Grain, and in turn bring forth the Messiah of Light, which would then save the word from destruction. Amara quickly came to find that, though she had been the one to protest in the beginning, that Michelle was the one who hated fighting, even if her resolve kept her going. The blonde would often take battles she knew her partner couldn’t handle, unknowingly doing just as she had during the Silver Millennium. Through it all, they kept up with their school work and finished both middle school and most of high school through online courses, albeit the most well know, yes the most difficult to attend, online courses they could find.

Something else that Amara quickly learned, was that, though she had Michelle both had similar backgrounds in monetary terms, the actuality had been much different; where Michelle had been the rebellious princess, Amara had been the girl who knew what money was worth, and intended to work just as hard as her parents had, if not harder. For their last year of high school, their mission
took them to Tokyo, where they finally found the root of the braches they had been destroying for the past four years – the Death Busters, based at Mugen Academy. Luckily for them, it was a school much like one they were used to attending: high class students, high class curriculum, rigorous courses and
classes. In all, even if their mission hadn’t led them there, it was still the school they both had always dreamed of attending. The battles got harder and harder, and it wasn’t uncommon that they would miss school because of an injury that couldn’t be hidden or healed as quickly with their Senshi power. And yet, they still somehow managed to stay on top of everything – of course, until they crossed paths with the Inner Court and the Princess. The two had pieced together enough of their memories to know exactly whom these five were, and ever if Sailor Moon was trickier, they still figured her out much quicker than the Inners themselves had. That meeting, and all that followed, were nothing short of cataclysmic; the Inners knew nothing of their mission, and continued to get in the way – even when two of the Talismans had been found, the Princess and the Inner Court kept interfering. It was nothing short of maddening to the two elder Senshi. Not even when Pluto made the scene and sided with Amara and Michelle, did the younger girls stop trying to meddle in things they didn’t understand. Then, there was the entire fiasco with Mistress Nine and Saturn… In the end, though Amara still refused to acknowledge that the correct thing had been done – she didn’t believe that it had, and made this very clear, right up until the end – she knew they had a greater duty to fulfill then. They would raise Hotaru properly, so that she could come into her powers in the correct way.

Though she and Michelle left Tokyo, they did not leave their grief for their fallen comrade in arms and friend, one Setsuna Meioh, Sailor Pluto – behind them. They mourned quietly, even if they knew she would return when she was needed; she was immortal, they knew, as their memories had been returned fully with their deaths and resurrections, and had probably just returned to her
place at the Chronos Gates. The two attempted normalcy, and managed it for a year, before they were called to return to the battle. By that time, Hotaru’s aging had sped so that she resembled about a fourteen year old physically, though she had often had conversations that were, at times, even hard for her “parents” to grasp. They helped to defeat Nehilenia, but took a step back from the war with Galaxia, until it became clear that they were needed once more. This time, a whole team once more, as Pluto had returned, the results were far more disastrous – Pluto and Saturn ended up dead by the hand of a defected Neptune and Uranus, respectfully. Their plan fell through, however, and the protection of their Princess was left to outsiders. When they were resurrected, along with the Inners, the rest of their own team, and all else who had been killed by the Golden Queen and her underlings, Amara begged forgiveness upon both her and Michelle’s behalf; to this day, she could not figure out why she was forgiven, but simply accepted it as the way of her Princess. Times passed, and their lives settled into a sense of peace and normalcy; Amara and Michelle followed their dreams, while continuing to riase Hotaru. And then, their peace was shattered once more. At this time, Amara made a vow to herself. She would not make the same mistakes she had in the past – even if it meant cooperating with the Inner Court much more closely than ever before.

Birthplace : Unknown.
Current Residence : Elysion
Family :
~Arashiou Tenou – Father – Estranged
~Kazeko Tenou – Mother – Deceased
~Michelle Kaioh – Lover (Fiancé?) – Sailor Neptune
~Hotaru Tomoe – Adoptive Daughter – Sailor Saturn

Blood Type : B.
Orientation : Lesbian, though in truth, she only has eyes for Michelle.
Significant Other: Michelle Kaioh.
Pet : None.

Fears :
  • Losing those she loves.
  • Hurting those she loves.
  • Confronting her father ever again.

Desires : Peace. Though she herself is a Senshi of Battle, Amara does not like to see those she loves affected by the harsh realities of war. If peace will keep those she cares so much for from hurting, then she will deny her need of battle.
Habits : Amara’s habits are really rather few and rather simple. If scared, or feeling any emotion akin to this, she will completely blank her face of all emotion, locking it deep within herself. When bored, she tends to slip her hands into her pockets, or cross her arms, looking away in either irritation or contemplation. Other than this, if she needs to think about something, to clear her head, to deal with emotion she doesn’t like others seeing, or even simply to forget, she will drive or run as far and fast as she can.
Pet Peeves : Amara hates being looked down on because she is a woman, or for being mocked because of her sexuality. Something else that really irritates her, is when people stick their noses into her business – especially if said people aren’t wanted. However, both of these things pale in comparison to when things she may have told in confidence are brought up in casual, public conversation. As private a person as she is, she despises this beyond words.

Strengths :
  • Running
  • Racing
  • Driving
  • Reading people (even if she doesn’t understand the emotions0
  • Not expressing emotion
  • Not cracking under pressure

Weaknesses :
  • Dealing with emotions
  • Expressing emotions
  • Shutting everyone out if she can’t handle the situation
  • Dealing with certain social situations

Personality Traits : When first meeting someone, Amara will be polite, and charming even – if she is speaking with a woman – but her eyes will never be anything but cold. This same coldness, will seep into her words, tone, and mannerisms very slightly, but in truth this is merely a mask. To get to her true personality, one must go fast this fake veneer, brave layers of ice so cold that it burns, and break down walls of stone colder and harder than even the ice was to pass. If one can do this – if one is willing to do this – then they will find a staunchly loyal if a bit reserved friend, a
passionate lover, a doting paternal/older sister figure, and one of the hardest workers one will ever come across anywhere in the world. Of course, this is merely her civilian persona.

When henshined, however, her personality shifts dramatically; only key elements remain the same. She is still hardworking, loyal, determined, and passionate, but that is all infused with the coldest of ice, and more often than not, she is nothing short of completely emotionless. She has also been defined, when
Uranus, as nothing short of a cold-blooded killer. She is ruthless and willing to do whatever it takes to achieve her mission objective. Often, she has been called extremely Machiavellian – her motto has always been that the end justified the means, and this won’t be changing any time soon.

Note: Please change any sections that might have been affected by the loss of Serenity and the partial destruction of Star City. These might include Fears, Desires, Habits, Pet Peeves, Strengths, Weaknesses, and Personality Traits.

As the senshi power-up for this round has not been determined, please leave the 'uniform' section black, ready to be completed when a design is agreed upon.
