1 Decadent Prison (Diamond) on Sun Aug 26, 2012 5:30 pm

November 14th, 2011

Three days, three very long and horrible days had passed and Serena had not slept..she couldn't. How could she while she was here, in this awful place..this....dark palace. Diamond had told her that he designed it after the Crystal Palace of Crystal Star so it would feel more like home, that he wanted her to be comfortable and to make herself comfortable. Comfortable? Comfortable!? How could she possibly be comfortable here?! This place was dark, this place was evil...this place was crawling with her enemies and she could do nothing about it.

From the moment her feet had touched the polished black floors of the Dark Crystal Place Serena began begging and pleading with Diamond to let her go but, her cries fell of deaf ears and as he placed her in a room..her room and locked the door she lost whatever resolve she had left. The moment she heard the cogs of the lock fall into place, -a sound that was worse than anything she had ever heard before- Serena knew it was over.

There she was, standing in the middle of this alien room, this...prison in her wedding dress, having just been torn away from her one and only true love...As she stood there a sudden feeling of claustrophobia set in and Serena frantically ran to the large windows and tried to pull them open. Nothing. She rattled at the window and banged on the glass as tears began to spill from her eyes. She could feel herself starting to let go but she had to hold on...just a little longer, just long enough until she could escape and find her way back to Darien, and once she was safe in his arms she could cry all she wanted.

Stopping her banging Serena turned and rested her back against the cool glass, misty eyes looking around and scanning the room for something she could use. For the first time she got a good look at where she was. The room was large and circular with a domed, glass ceiling that gave a nice compliment to the dark walls and floor. A great deal of many beautiful things and furniture decorated the chamber, things that she may have been fawning over if the situation were different.

A large white vanity with jewelry, perfume and other necessities was against the far left wall nestled between two doors that probably led to a bathroom and closet. A beautiful white four poster bed with sheer, silvery material draped from the posts and canopy and a deep almost black, purple bed covering was across from that. A writing desk, full length mirror, shelves with rows of books, a chaise lounger and a changing screen were also dotted around and filled in with other decorative items like paintings and small statues.

Diamond had gone through great lengths to 'make her feel at home' but none of that mattered because she wouldn't be here much longer. As her blue eyes bounced around the various items in the room they settled on a small stone statue of a girl with a billowy tunic wrapped around her...it looked like a Roman or Greek statue that you would by at a flea market but it was perfect. Serena ran to the dresser the statue was on and picked it up..nearly dropping it, the thing was heavy but she could do it...she had to. Once she had a firm grip on the statue she carried it back over to the window and, after winding up she threw the statue at the window. Instead of hearing the sound of shattered glass like she had hoped the statue just bounced off as easily as if it was a pillow and fell to the floor where it shattered.

No... she said hopelessly as she fell to her knees and picked up the bigger remains of the statue before trying again. It was no use, every time she threw the larger chunks of stone it just bounced off and landed near her in smaller pieces. A look of horror washed over her as she realized what had happened and what that meant but Serena did not want to accept it. No..no no no no she quickly crawled from her knees, tripping over her wedding dress as she did, her heel of her shoe catching and ripping the bottom a little. No no no no she continued as she reached the chair of the writing desk and picking that up, throwing it at the window once she had carried it over. It just fell back to the ground. NO! She screamed, picking the chair up again, this time holding on to it while repeatedly hitting it against the glass until the legs finally broke.

Once the chair was destroyed Serena went and found anything else she could use until...until she had used everything in the room and fully destroyed it. Furniture was broken and turned over, books and papers littered the room, some of the sheer curtains on the bed were torn down as well as the curtains on the window the only thing that had survived other than the windows were the mirrors..seemed Diamond didn't want her getting any ideas.

It was this point, as she looked over the havoc she had caused that Serena knew there was no escape and she fell to the floor in a heap, turning to the side and curling into the tightest ball she could as she finally released the tears and anger she had been holding in. How could this happen? HOW?! Why was it that Darien and her were never allowed to live their lives happily? First, their past lives...having died for love. Then, all the trials they had been through...Beryl taking Darien and brainwashing him...Him losing his memories...then avoiding her and breaking up with her to protect her...Diamond the first time...Neo Queen Serenity falling into that slumber...Galaxia...(that was almost too painful to mention) so many trials and every time they had come out on top..had proven that they were meant to be together and on the one day that was meant to show the world their accomplishment..

Serena sobbed into the cold floor. Where was Darien? Was he still alive? Were the others? Were they hurt? Were they captured? Would they come for her? While she wished for nothing more she hoped not...Diamond had threatened the life growing inside her...the life that would grow into Rini and she could not risk that, would never risk that. No, she hoped they stayed until something was figured out and they would...they had to.

If only she had been smart enough to carry her broach with her. Serena should have known better than to never think something like this could happen..That was just it. Nothing like this was supposed to happen. It had been five years FIVE YEARS of silence and calmness, there had been no signs that she could see, no reason to worry but she should have always been prepared. How could she fail like that? How could she be so stupid?! Sailor Moon could put a stop to this madness..or could she? The last time she had faced Diamond face to face near the dark crystal the silver crystal did not work and she couldn't transform...would that be the same now? She was stronger than she had been before, the crystal was stronger but...So were they. They had to be to still be alive, right? There was also something different about the Black Moon this time, something she couldn't quite grasp...

More sobs as defeat washed over her. What was going to become of her? The last time Diamond had her like this he tried...She squinted her eyes shut tighter and shook her head. No, that couldn't happen. Serena still had nightmares about that night, about how helpless she was against his third eye, about how horrible it was to know he had undressed her, to know she could do nothing to stop him and that while she had no control over her body she was still watching..could still see and feel everything he was doing to her. No..he couldn't do that. She had a child to care for, had a life growing inside of her and she needed to be strong for that baby.

Her eyes suddenly snapped open. What about Rini? Was she safe? What was going to happen to her now that she was here? What if they didn't get to her before the baby was born...no....no..calm down. She wouldn't be here that long. Surely they would think of something before then.

Minutes turned to hours and hours into days as Serena remained there on that floor, crying until she had nothing left in her. After she cried herself dry she just laid there, numb. Her eyes starred blankly at the wall that was opposite her through the underside of the bed that she could see from where she was...her body was tingling all over, having long since fell asleep from her not moving for so long, deep and dark bags were under her eyes from crying and not sleeping or blinking but she didn't care. She was a prisoner...a small white bird in a large and dangerous cage.

During her time on the floor many people had come into her room. Maids who were appalled at the state she had turned things, maids who brought her food and tried to get her to eat..to change, to move..but their pleas fell on deaf ears. She ignored them and did not move and if anyone tried to touch her she curled herself up tighter. Serena knew that she should eat..the baby needed food, she needed food and while logic told her that Diamond would not do anything to kill her she couldn't be too careful. What if he put something in her food that would hurt the baby?

A knocking sound as one of her maids...she couldn't recall her name nor did she care. -Serena didn't listen to them when they talked to her- opened one of the large double doors and walked into the room and set down another tray of food while taking away the old one. She passed the old tray off to someone before walking to the closet and disappearing, coming back a few minutes later. There was something swaying with the woman as she walked...some kind of material that she set on the bed and after saying something else to her the woman left the room, shutting the door she came into behind her once more and locking it.

It wasn't long before someone else was coming through the door but this time no knock...the door opened and a pair of familiar white pants and shoes came into her awkward vision from the floor. She knew who those belonged too....what more did he want from her? What else could he possible do to her to prove that he won? There were several things and those thoughts made her curl up even more and more tears tried to fall but, there was nothing left, she had cried them all out. He was walking toward her, kneeling down and speaking....reaching out to her. As she saw the hand Serena turned her head away, the first movement in so long was not a very pleasant one but it was better than being touched by him.

Your Highness, she hasn’t been eating.

Your Majesty, she made such a mess…

Your Grace, she refuses to move off of the floor.

Your Highness, she will not move.

Any report he got about her seemed to be nothing but the same thing, time and time again: Serenity was not behaving as she should.

Your Majesty, I’m starting to worry…

It seemed conquering the world was the easier of his two goals. With reports coming in left and right about their progress across the seven continents, he had little time to devote to his Queen and her sour mood; he allowed the behavior to continue as he and Sapphire focused on controlling their new planet. Three days came and went, ten Lieutenants and Generals returned and seven continents fell; the Era of New Nemesis had begun. In the War Room, standing before a three-dimensional display of their territories, he and his brethren watched as the final piece turned from green to deep purple, and listened as his family cheered. He smiled, nodding once at the display as though Emerald could see him from her post in England, and let the proud moment blanket him. They did it. They won, and Earth would never have to know the despair that accompanied the long lifespan ‘gifted’ to them by the White Moon Regime.

Berty, the silly girl, cried out for a party, and, for once, he had to agree; a celebration was in order, but the occasion would hold several purposes: first, an outlet for his family for what they had done, everything they had sacrificed to make their dream come true. They deserved every ounce of happiness he could afford them. Second, a declaration of the Black Moon Clan’s dominance over Earth, an official instatement of their rule, a monarchy that would lead the planet into a healthy, industrious future. And Third, a means for the populace to swear fealty to him, and an official ceremony wherein he would be crowned King. His Kingship was nothing he had originally counted on or worked toward, but both Sapphire and Rubeus had stated that they would serve under none other than himself, and so it appeared the position was his.

He dismissed them all to prepare for the celebration, staying after to speak with Sapphire about certain special arrangements for other pieces of their new Dark Crystal, and then turned his attention back to the trio of maids responsible for keeping Serenity’s quarters. Calling them all to him, they timidly repeated the events of the past three days and his level of frustration rose for the first time in days. What, exactly, did she think she was doing? Three days was the standard time for dehydration, and if she hadn’t moved in that period of time after a string of activity – such as breaking every single thing in her room, despite the attempt to find objects that would please her, he mentally sighed – she might not know the perilous state her body was in.

And three days without food… you would think the child would be driving her insane with hunger. Fighting the urge to roll his eyes, Prince Diamond briskly strode down the long hallways of the Dark Crystal Palace, the back of his mind enjoying the play of light across the floor, the darker rainbows projected on the walls. Down hallways and up a few floors, he finally arrived at the door to Serenity’s room. Using only a touch of energy, he manipulated the lock to open before his hand even touched the door knob and strode through unhindered. When he saw her, curled up in a ball, her arms tightly wound about her knees and her eyes red and irritated from crying, he paused, for the first time reconsidering his plan. Was this the right path?

But he had only to remember his first life to be certain. He strode forward again and knelt down in front of Serenity. She was broken now, as broken as the ideals of the White Moon Kingdom, but, just like this planet, he could fix her, could rebuild her, stronger than she could have ever dreamed before… “Was the room not to your liking?” he asked, trying to catch her eyes but she stubbornly looked away. He reached out, intending to push a strand of hair out of her face, but she recoiled from him. His face hardened, disliking the reaction. What had he done to her but save her from inflicting the world with the disease of her people?

He stood, only then realizing that the gown she wore was her wedding attire, and a touch of anger flared in his chest. He fought it down. “While white does look nice on you, perhaps you would wish to change to fit tonight’s occasion?

What do you want from me? She asked quietly, her voice hurting and dry from not being used in days. She ignored anything he had said to her before. There were so many things she wanted to say to him, so many things she wanted to yell and scream at him but what was the point? Diamond had made himself very clear when she tried to do that when they first arrived. When Diamond mentioned something about changing Serena hugged her arms to herself more, she didn't want to take the dress off..she was sure that once she did he would take it to be destroyed and she couldn't let that happen. It was the only thing she had that tied her back to Darien...well, only tangible thing and she wanted to keep it close.

(ack, sorry its a short reply)

What do you want from me?” she asked, her voice cracking from misuse. She looked terrible; worn, haggard, tired and weakened; if he had any say, she would never look like this again.

He considered her question momentarily, wondering how to answer. What he wanted was for her to be strong, to look at him with the strength and intensity that she had glared with once before, in another time, another dimension altogether. He wanted her to be his, to rule by his side, be the Queen only he deserved… but one must start small in order to dream big. “Just for you to get up, to join us in celebration tonight. To eat something, to drink, to take care of yourself… and that child of yours.

((>.< ditto; lol, I kinda want to see how she responds before doing anything else XD))

I'm not going to your celebration Serena told him, a little more strength behind her words. His calmness angered her, how could he be so clam in all of this? Well, she knew that answer. Of course he would be calm, he won...he got everything he ever wanted and had no reason to worry... Leave me alone Diamond, isn't is enough that you've won? Let me lay here in peace Serena would move when she was ready to move and only then.

I’m not going to your celebration.” A flare of anger sparked in her, and he drank it in hungrily, liking this part of her much more than the broken thing he had found on the floor of the once-luxurious room. They way her eyes tightened in fury, glinting up at him… but then they softened again, eyelids drooping, and he fought the urge to sigh exaggeratedly. “Leave me alone, Diamond; isn’t it enough that you’ve won?” Self-pity wasn’t exactly attractive, “Let me lay here in peace.

And that was it. Coolly, he kneeled and placed his forearm in the crook of her knees, the other hand curling around her shoulders, and he swiftly lifted her off of the ground. Despite how little he liked this passive, pathetic version of Serenity, he endeavored to be gentle; if she hadn’t moved in days, her joints would have stiffened and any jostling might cause acute agony. The time it took him to move from her spot to the plush bed was a fraction of a second, the dark crystal aiding his movement to be swift and steady until he placed her on the bed, her back against the headboard, and stepped back. “Eat, bathe, and get dressed. We’re going to an important party tonight.’ his tone was pleasant, with undertones of command. It was no outright-order, but it was a strong ‘suggestion’ she comply.

All she wanted to do was lay there forever, why couldn't he just let her have that? Just that little bit of kindness in this horrible nightmare he had made for her. Serena did not want to talk to him, didn't want to look at him, there was nothing she had to say to him that she hadn't already said..a hundred times over. But, it seemed Diamond had other plans and as hands slid under her Serena's eyes clenched shut tight. It hurt to move..or be moved. Her body screamed at her, stiff bones and muscles moving for the first time in days.

As he carried her Serena remained as she was, silent, still and with closed eyes. Wherever he was taking her she did not want to know. She had lost her will to fight...how could she when the life of her baby was on the line? When Diamond set her down on something soft Serena dared look, eyes peaking open as she saw herself sitting on the bed

Serena sat there staring at the bed cover, staring at her empty ring finger as Diamond continued speaking...something about her getting dressed and going. She didn't hear him but it didn't matter. She didn't want to go and had already told him so, she would rather stay locked up in here than be paraded around like some trophy. When he didn't leave her to do what he requested Serena took her eyes away from her empty hand...it was too painful to look at and she slowly brought her unblinking eyes up to look at Diamond. Why are you doing this? She asked him once more, her voice distant and raspy from not being used and dry from crying. He might want her to do things but she wanted answers first.

Why? Why was he doing this? Occasionally he wondered himself…

But then the memory of Queen Serenity would resurface. The beautiful, powerful, and dangerous Queen Serenity who looked upon him with such vengeful hatred in her eyes, and he knew: he was doing this because he wanted that woman by his side. Not just for his company, though he was sure he would find both amusement and pleasure with her and, maybe someday, comfort; it was also for this new world. She was a fierce protector, a valiant guardian of this planet and its people and he valued such an asset in his new world. If anything were to happen to him, she would guard them in his stead; she would look after his family and his people, all 6.8 billion of them. With combined powers of the Dark Crystal and the Silver Crystal, the people would be safe, and with the checks and balances each crystal held, neither should overpower the other. The populace would not receive the curse of long lives that the White Moon would have “gifted” them, and neither would they be overcome with the violent outbursts the Malefic Black Crystal had been known to produce in its past incarnation. They would be a perfect match – the Dark King and the White Queen – and the Earth would prosper for it.

So he chose to take her question another way. “Because the world has fallen to my family now, and I have chosen you to be my Queen. Tonight’s party will solidify both my position on the throne of Earth and bring in the Era of New Nemesis, and it is important that the Earth’s new Queen be present to show a solidarity in the Earth’s new ruling family.

Something in his words angered her. He had chosen her? After everything he had put her through once in the past, and after all the kindness and forgiveness she showed him he had decided to take it upon himself to choose her to rule with him without taking in any consideration of what she might want. He ruined her perfect day because he wanted her, wanted her with no worries to ask what she wanted. Serena's fist clenched, grabbing a bunch of the plush bedspread as she felt a rage coarse through her for the first time since she arrived here. Quickly, she was up on her feet, ignoring the pain her body screamed at her for the sudden movement and Serena reached out for the first thing she could find that could possibly do any kind of damage to Diamond. Her hands reached a thick looking book and she threw it in his direction I HAD A KING! She yelled, fresh tears stinging her eyes for the first time in days I had a King and you took me away from him! YOUR A MONSTER!

She launched forward suddenly, burst off of the bed to land on bare feet before him. Her eyes were ablaze, and while he stepped back to give her some space, he wanted nothing more than to move closer, to feel her fury at its fullest. She was most alive at that point; her eyes flashing, body in full action, breathing deeply as her arm darted for the bedside table, grabbing a tome with strength born of fury and launching it at him. He phased away to let it pass by harmlessly and came back as soon as he could to hear her screaming at him. “I HAD A KING!” she shouted, tears glistening in the corner of her eyes; however, these tears did not put him off as her earlier crying had; these tears were born of passion, even if that passion was hatred, and his attraction to her livid person was intense. He hung on her words, “I had a King and you took me away from him! YOU’RE A MONSTER!

He disregarded her last comment, the insult meaning nothing at this moment. He did, however, wonder if in the future she would become more imaginative with her name-calling. He kept his voice as even as possible, as impassioned as he could as he replied. “Your “king”? I do not recall that man having ever won a crown, nor were the two of you actually united. That little caped crusader doesn’t deserve to be spoken of so highly, especially as he hasn’t made any move to rescue you, the woman he supposedly loves. You misjudged him, Serenity. I went right in amongst those supposed friends of yours, alone, to rescue you from that fate; if he had truly cared for you, why hasn’t he tried to rescue you? My scouts have been combing the city quietly, alert for any sign of your friends, and no one has seen or heard of them, whether they be in my employ or not. They’ve abandoned you, Serenity. And I never will.

“Now eat, bathe, and get dressed.
” His silky voice paused, his eyes commanding, “The ceremony starts soon.

They’ve abandoned you, Serenity his words were calm but the blow behind them hurt and Serena shook her head. They would never abandon me! Serena shouted at him, his calmness in this whole conversation irrated her to no end. This would be so much easier if he was doing something...trying to force her, yelling at her, anything but him just being this cool and clam psychopath. They haven't come because you threatened our daughter Diamond! She walked so she was in front of him, fist clenched at her sides and fierce blue eyes looking up. Serena was tired of crying and doing nothing, if only she had her broach on her she could transform and end all of this. Why hadn't she thought to have it with her?! A careless mistake that would cost her greatly.

The only reason I am still here Diamond is because we value life. She made sure to put emphasis on value. It was something he could never understand. We value our daughter, we love our family and would never put her at risk but mark my words. They. Will. Come. It is only a matter of time but they will come for me and you will pay for everything you have ruined.

They would never abandon me!” she shouted at him; he didn’t twitch a muscle, just let her yell. “They didn’t come because you threatened our daughter, Diamond!” He quirked a brow; of course he knew that was the reason, but he would never admit that to her, not now. Now it was important for her to feel alone, to feel abandoned, separated from that doomed cause of hers. Only then could she see the light of his purpose and accept his way as the best. She had approached him, as close as she dared, and still he didn’t move; his eyes on hers, exuding calm as her hands formed fists at her side, he just listened as she made her case at close quarters, “The only reason I am still here Diamond is because we value life.

No, Serenity, we value life,’ he thought passionately, a shadow crossing his eyes as he remembered the dull listlessness of life in her beloved Crystal Star; the endless days without excitement, knowing that life couldn’t end at any moment – that was living but not being alive! The only way to truly live was to believe that life could end at any moment! The security of near immortality was the foulest curse anyone could come up with, and she defends it as though it was the greatest gift!

With time, she would see!

We value our daughter, we love our family and would never put her at risk but mark my words. They. Will. Come. It is only a matter of time but they will come for me and you will pay for everything you have ruined.

His eyes narrowed at her words, her lofty tone – her arrogance was incredible, and while in different situations he found arrogant people amusing and endearing, now, when she used her words to suggest that he did not care or love his family as she did, he found it childish and ignorant. If she but knew what he had done for love of his family… he let the smallest of scowls form on his face, and it had nothing to do with her pathetic threat. “Eat. Bathe. And get dressed, Serenity.

His patience was running thin.

No she told him sharply, being defiant right now may not be the best thing she could do, with the threat and everything hanging over her like that but she was emotional, angry, hormonal...whatever excuse someone wanted to use. I will not let you parade me around like some trophy. I would rather sit in a prison than ever sit next to you on your throne of lies! Ooooo she was so angry, so so angry. Serena could feel it bubble inside of her and was grateful for it. It was so much better to feel something other than the crippling sorrow and loss she had been feeling. She was so angry that she could strike him...and she wanted to, was thinking about it very very hard but even in her compromised state she couldn't do that...at least not yet. It was fight or flight and she couldn't run away so she was going to do the next best thing, fight.

No! I will not let you parade me around like some trophy. I would rather sit in a prison than ever sit next to you on your throne of lies! ” she cried defiantly, the anger in her tone invoking a feeling of pride in Diamond – this woman would be his Queen, would lead his people, and she wouldn’t let anyone boss her around. Well, except him. He had had just about enough of this; if she wasn’t going to get ready by herself, he’d have to remind her of what, exactly, was resting on her shoulders.

He cocked his head to the side almost acquiescingly, “In the end, it is your choice, Serenity, but I’m sure our guests would be very… disappointed by your absence and your refusal to join me on the throne of Earth.” as he continued, his voice cooled considerably, his eyes bearing into hers, “You cannot change fact, Serenity; I won. The Earth is mine, its defenses defeated, its people completely under my command, mine to control; I determine their fates, dear Princess of the White Moon, and you would do well to remember that. The power I offer you is power over their futures – if you will not stand at my side as my Queen, I cannot guarantee their safety.

The threat was barely veiled. “While I might have some care for my subjects, I cannot say that their plight would move me enough to order certain family members from playing with them. Emerald, for example, or Rubeus and his darling little sister, Ruby. Did you know she destroyed two stores today on a shopping trip? No one was physically hurt… much. But that was when she was in a good mood.

“Would you really turn your back on them?
” he paused, letting the words sink in as he mentally located the tray of uneaten food. With just a touch of power it rose, floated through the air, and landed on the bedside table beside her with a slight thunk. He smiled a half-smile then, the gesture not quite reaching his eyes as he motioned to the tray, “Now, I might find it in my heart to consider these tantrums a side effect of early pregnancy… if you would eat, bathe, and get dressed.” His eyebrows raised meaningly.

“You cannot change fact, Serenity; I won. The Earth is mine, its defenses defeated, its people completely under my command, mine to control; I determine their fates, dear Princess of the White Moon, and you would do well to remember that. The power I offer you is power over their futures – if you will not stand at my side as my Queen, I cannot guarantee their safety.” Serena's eyes looked right back at his; unblinking, unwavering, with no fear..even if she did fear him greatly. Diamond had her cornered, had her hanging on his every whim as much as she hated to admit it. She may try to push the issues like she was now, try to fight him on it but deep down she knew that everyone: the baby, Darien, her family, the girls, the people of this planet...everyone counted on her and how she acted.

“Would you really turn your back on them?”

The snake, how dare he allow that to happen, he didn't care about the earth and its people, he didn't care what his family did all he cared is that he won and this was all just a face for her. Sailor Moon had thought she had seen the real Diamond once, before he died. He had asked for forgiveness and she gave it to him, had convinced herself that all of his actions were because of Wiseman's influence but no...this, this cold and malicious face that put on a mask of concerned ruler was the real Diamond.

As the tray was set down Serena did not take her eyes off of his, she would not break contact first, would not back down until he left. No, now she had a game of her own to play. She will be the strong, unphased Queen he wanted her to be. She will defy him that way, will not show any weakness or pain for the life she lost until she was alone, back in the privacy of her chambers.

Taking a quiet breath she unclenched her hands slightly while still keeping her cold blue eyes on his. What would his Highness like me to wear? As she said 'his highness' there was a sarcastic undertone to her words but since he seemed to liked to know and choose everything for her she figured he had a dress in mind for her to wear. The game had begun.

What would His Highness like me to wear?

He smiled internally, enjoying the fight in her eyes and the inflection in her tone; outwardly, he looked over to the door that lead to a large closet filled with designer gowns chosen specifically to compliment her skin tone and bring out her eyes; hues of blue and green, red and pink, from black to white and sheens of all colors in between. She was looking for him to order her to wear a particular dress, perhaps wanting a demand to follow that she might resent later. He wouldn’t give her the satisfaction. “Whatever Her Grace chooses to wear, so long as she chooses to change out of the gown she has been sitting in for the past three days. If you would like a handmaiden to help you with your decision, or to assist by drawing your bath, arrangements can be made.” Her answer would mean his departure; he, too, had to prepare for tonight’s celebration. Their conversation would continue when he returned to escort her to the ball.
ooc:
So... yeah; if you want her to decline, feel free to PP him leaving the room; if she wants some help, I'll blurb him getting the woman and leaving and such. ^^'

I don't need help Serena told him. She was perfectly capable of drawing her own bath and picking out her own clothes. Besides, she didn't want anything to happen to her wedding dress once she took it off and if someone in Diamond's employ got their hands on it who knew what would happen to it after that. As Diamond finally left her to get ready Serena looked around at the mess she made, starting to feel sorry for whomever he sent in to clean it up...she should have thought of that before she decided to destroy everything but, whats done was done and there was no changing it. Her eyes wandered from the broken furniture to the tray of food that he had brought to her.

In reality she knew she should eat, the baby needed it but there was still that nagging feeling at the back of her mind that told her the food wasn't safe. What if Diamond had poisoned it? What if he put something in it that would be hurtful to the baby? While she knew these things were stupid since he would have no hold over her or the others anymore if the baby was harmed it was still hard not to think of them. Her baby was a 'enemy baby' it was hers and Dariens, the ultimate symbol of their love...why would Diamond want any kind of reminder about that running around?

That thought sickened her, she couldn't be here that long...Rini would not grow up in this place, no...Darien and the others would surely find a way to get to her before then...wouldn't they?

More tears threatened to come but Serena pushed them back. Of course Darien would come for her before then and Diamond would be defeated and they would be a family again. Darien would get to see his daughter born and everything would be perfect. With that thought in mind Serena picked up the tray of food and set it across her lap as she sat back down on the bed. Diamond might be a creep but he wasn't a fool...the food would be fine.

Carefully she picked up the fork and stuck it into the pasta, twrilling the instrument around in her finger before taking a tentative bite of the food. It was good and a little familiar..shouldn't surprise her, if Diamond had gone through all of this trouble to take her whats to say he didn't stalk her to find out what her favorite foods were and the like? But, even if the food was good and she knew she had to eat Serena could not bring herself to do more than nibble and she set the tray aside once she was finished. Now that was out of the way she supposed she needed to 'bathe and get dressed' as per Diamond's request.

Slowly Serena made her way to where she imagined the bathroom to be, it took a few tries on opening random doors that opened up to closets but eventually she found it. To say the place was huge would be a understatement. The bathroom was bigger than her room back home, the same dark marble that made up the walls and floor was in here as well, along with another vanity with rows of perfumes and other essentials and a stack of plush looking towels and a robe. As she turned the light on a black crystal chandelier illuminated the room, making purples and blues dance across the marble which gave the overall feeling of the room something like being inside a kaleidoscope..it was oddly relaxing. The bathtub was large and deep and Serena was certain a handful of people could fit into it comfortably and there still be room.

-------

After her bath Serena was feeling a bit more like herself, it felt nice to be clean. As she got out and wrapped the robe around her there was a knock on her door...at first she thought it was Diamond but he couldn't expect her to be ready so fast...well, he could and if he did then he would have to wait. Holding the robe tight to her Serena stepped out of the bathroom and saw a maid standing there

I am here to help you for tonight your highness

Serena sighed I don't need help..

The Prince request it The young woman said while walking over to Serena and ushering her back to the bathroom and to the vanity where she was made to sit while her hair and makeup was done. Serena let the girl do as she wished, finding the help well...helpful

When the maid was finally finished Serena looked in the mirror...her hair was done in its usual style (as requested by herself) and her makeup was light and airy...with just a tad of color on her cheeks and lips and a shimmer to her eyes. Usually, in this kind of situation Serena would enjoy the process and enjoy looking pretty but looking pretty for Diamond was not high on her list. After her hair and makeup Serena was ushed to the closet and a dress picked out for her, not caring what she wore. The maid picked a white silk gown with a jeweled bodice and helped Serena into it.

When everything was said and done, she was dressed, made up, had shoes on..the whole nine yards Serena was told to wait for the Prince to escort her to the ball as the maid left the room, leaving Serena to her thoughts.

OCC:
Sorry its so all over the place...my mind is in like 10 different locations right now

The bath unwound his thoughts, loosening the tangled web of ideas, plots, and imagined outcomes as the warm water unwound muscles tense from days of intense planning and round-the-clock surveillance and ordering; it helped sooth away the tensions of winning the largest and fastest war the planet had ever seen. Lazily, comfortably, Diamond’s eyes followed the streaks of purple-hued lights that danced across the dark marble walls as he listened to faint classical music that played from the phonograph in his room, the stanzas echoing pleasantly against the soft marble walls.

Lazily he considered what might happen that night; the idea that his people were not under his control was absurd but necessary to make Serenity put her best foot forward and appear as the valiant Queen the world needed to see; valiant, forgiving, strong, caring, beautiful… Serenity. She was instrumental - he would be the warlord the planet feared, she his loving Queen, and after a time, people would wonder why she was with him; her being there would be his foot in the door in their hearts. Now he was a terrifying King, but in time they would come to see him for what he really was: their hero. The man that brought about their salvation, ended war on their planet, united the people under a single banner and gave them their purpose: to be alive, and live as though every day could be their last. They might not be as free as they once had been; with the Dark Crystal being the key to his power, he had to be sure the populace was monitored by people he trusted: his family. They might not be able to elect their own leaders, but they could still vote on topics of their own within their own communities, so long as each paid heed to the planetary laws and creed. What else… what else was he missing? He wanted the human race to survive and be given its best chance; the White Moon Family was not that best chance, so he had done away with them. Surely they would not rebel so quickly on that account?

… now, the masses of the dead was another matter entirely.

He sighed, as is the behavior of Ruby. What was he to do about Ruby? The dead was one thing – he would declare the past three days as holidays of remembrance in the future, solemn occasions that end in a giant party celebrating the lives and deaths of those who sacrificed themselves for the good of the planet. But Ruby and the others… their demeanors were completely against what was needed to usher in this new era; she was just too violent. An excellent warrior, but warriors were for times of war and now was a time of peace – he sighed again, unless the senshi resurface. He couldn’t forbid her her fun or he might lose her allegiance.

He laughed at the absurdity of the notion, the sound echoing hollowly in the chamber; him? Losing the allegiance of any of his clan? Preposterous. If any dared go against him, after everything they had done together… the Dark Crystal would not allow such a lack of respect for him. So… what to do with her. He took his hand out of the warm, rose-scented bath water and looked at it; it was just starting to prune; he should get out, soon. He stood, reaching for a towel to dry himself off as he stepped down the short stair onto the heated floor. When he finished, he tossed the towel aside and took a robe to wear from the bathroom to his closet. Perhaps… perhaps he would keep Ruby in a wartime position? Like a police officer of sorts? She could channel that energy into something useful, both she and Jade could work together on it.

If they were fighting with each other, perhaps they wouldn’t be fighting the harmless townspeople.

He threw open the door to his walk-in closet and stepped inside, approaching a rack of impressive and beautiful clothes; all suit-like, tailored to fit him perfectly. He shrugged out of the robe and into an impressive ensemble primarily in black; perhaps people could take it as a sign of mourning while the cut said something of pride and celebration? Hmm… As he dressed, his mind was halfway on the cities in ruin; what would he do with them? A building project of some sort? A search for construction and architects? He sighed, wondering where Sapphire was; his brother was far better at city planning that he.

Dressed, his hair dried, and his mind still clicking on about topics that might surface, Diamond strode from his chambers, not bothering to close the doors as almost immediately a trio of servants scurried in behind him to clean, and started the long walk back to Princess Serenity’s chambers, wondering what in the world had possessed him to make her quarters so far away. He stopped thrice: once to inquire as to the time and the status of the party – he was cutting things close; dignitaries had already arrived and were being entertained by his top people, Emerald being primary among them; the second time was to answer a question voiced by one of the Wicked Sisters, as they liked to call themselves. Avery, demure and respectful, paused to ask him about Pyrite and whether the boy was invited to the festivities – he considered for a moment, weighing the pros and the cons and decided that the boy, too, deserved a little fun… and needed to see what was going on. He told her that Pyrite needed appear older than a teenager to fit in and if there were any complaints raised against him, he would immediately need to leave. The third time was a report made nearly right outside Serenity’s quarters; she had eaten and a girl had been in to help her get ready.

Confidently, Diamond opened the door without knocking and stepped inside to escort his personal guest to his victory party.

Serenity was stunning. She wore white, apparently a tendency of hers – not that he minded; she wore the color brilliantly, not that he could pay the dress any attention when the rest of her was so undeniably beautiful. If only her eyes were as hard and compelling as they had been just an hour ago… she’d be stunning, flawless, absolutely irresistible… “You are beautiful.” he complimented honestly. “Thank you for taking such care in your presentation for this evening. Are you ready to go?

What was taking him? Serena was starting to get bored..which was saying something. There was nothing in here that could interest her to keep her mind occupied long enough to forget the dire situation she was in, she would much rather get this whole night done and over with as soon as possible...He was making her wait on purpose..had to be, making her stew in her own thoughts about what she was about to face. Even if it wasn't true Serena wanted to believe it and it made her a
tad angry.

Standing from the chair she had been sitting in Serena began to pace around the room, trying her best to get rid of this restlessness she was feeling. The sudden sound of her door opening without a knock made her jump slightly and whip around to see who it was and as Diamond strode inside as proud and decorated as a peacock Serena rolled her eyes. She turned fully to face him, ignoring all and any compliments he gave to her. A gentleman is supposed to knock before entering a ladies room. She said sharply, sounding a bit like Luna in her mind, it was sort of a backhanded statement..even if he was the 'King' and could do what he wanted there was a conduct they were supposed to adhere to. Serena had done enough reading and research and asked Luna questions about what was considered good conduct for royalty as the days began to get closer and closer to the day she was meant to take the throne.

When he thanked her and asked if she was ready Serena mearly started walking unitl she was near enough to him so he could 'escort' her.

A gentleman is supposed to knock before entering a lady’s room.” she replied sharply; while part of him wondered how long she had been waiting the other part quipped “Who said I was a gentleman?” the comment meant to irk her further. The flare in her step as she approached, the added confidence and poise, made her even more attractive in his eyes. He held out an elbow for her to take and started striding from the room, keeping his steps in check so he would not easily outdistance her or cause her to hurry to keep up with him.

You won’t need to say anything tonight,” he informed her as they walked, his soft, deep voice barely echoing off of the arched marble ceiling of the long hallway, “Sapphire will make an announcement, introduce us, I will speak for a bit, we will be crowned, and those gathered will pledge their allegiance. Now, that does not mean that you cannot speak,” he glanced over and down at her, “but I would advise against unwise statements that go against our cause here tonight.” he looked forward again as he said, “I fear that while the audience is filled with people of importance from around the world, along with a few news stations we allow to continue airing live broadcasts, it, too, is filled with my war generals, some of which are still… ‘hyped up’ about the battles of earlier today and might be itching for an excuse to start fighting again. Wouldn’t want to dare them into action, would we?

You don't have to convince me.. Serena thought to herself at Diamonds comment. At the offer of his elbow Serena ignored it and walk along side him, keeping his stride. He loved to keep pushing her buttons didn't he? You won’t need to say anything tonight, Serena side glanced him slightly...good, because she did not plan on speaking at all tonight, nothing she would have to say would help his plan and it would only cause more problems. No, all she wished to do tonight was sit there, stand when she needed to and look pretty...his pretty little trophy because that's what she was.

As they walked the corridors Serena took the chance to take in her surroundings, it was just like the Palace of the 30th century only...more sinister. She tried to put their path to memory so she knew where to avoid in the future and before she knew it they were standing in front of two large and ornaite doors with a array of voices and laughs coming from the other side. This was it...this was the moment of truth and suddenly Serena felt terror as stomach dropped and she felt like running, her face had lost its color and she took a small step back. I can't do this..

I can’t do this.

Diamond’s hand shot up, stopping the servants in their tracks at Serenity’s anxious words. The pair of them paused at either side of the ornate doors, freezing in place completely at his glance. With a flick of his eyes both of them dispersed, fading into the recessed alcoves on the black marble hall to await his call. He looked down at Serenity, trying to exude calm acceptance despite his desire to get the announcement session of the party over with. He would much rather spend the evening with a glass of wine, soft music, and conversation, but in order to get to the more enjoyable portion of his evening, he had to present a strong and confident front, and he couldn’t do that with his partner so pale and nervous.

And she was pale; all color had drained from her, her blue eyes standing out starkly against the rest of her face. He wondered fleetingly if she were shaking, too; he knew a touch would be seen as comforting in a situation such as this, but to say that the effect of his touch on her might be unwelcome would be an understatement. Instead he opted to try his words. “Just take a deep breath,” he suggested calmly, his voice deep and even, “You’ll do fine. They will love you.” If she meant that she couldn’t do this on a moral standpoint, his attempt would change; if it was nothing but a case of public speaking nerves, he had other suggestions, as well; it all hinged on how she replied. He wondered if she needed something to drink?

He didn't understand, did he? No, how could he. To him this was all right, this was the way things were supposed to be..Diamond had no problem with what he did, he felt justified, thought she belonged with him and that they were meant to rule together so how could he possibly understand what was going on in her mind right now. Her fears were probably silly and trivial to him. Serena did not care if she made a good impression on these people or not, they were not her people, these were not the people she was meant to rule..no, she didn't care about that. The world would see her as Diamonds Queen but not know the true anguish and her sad story.

Oh God...would there be cameras there? Would Diamond have this televised somehow to let the rest of his new Kingdom know what was going on? If so then would Darien see what she was doing? Would he hate her? She hated herself right now, Serena brought her hand up and clutched the area of her dress that was between her chest and took deep breaths. Please don't make me do this.

Serenity, you don’t have to say anything,” he reiterated before continuing, “They need to see you – their world has just been attacked, many are dead. The people are frightened out of their minds and desperate to find out what happens next; most probably believe we aim to kill everyone and destroy everything. You are someone they know; maybe not personally, but they know of you, they know through news reports broadcast all over the world that you are Sailor Moon, Earth’s protector, and they need to see that you are alive and well and with us; it will give them hope and make them feel protected, which is what we need before riots start breaking out and countless more innocents are dead. Or worse, if rebellions start and thousands die that way – my family will not lay down their lives to placate these people; they will fight, and they will win, and hundreds or thousands more could die because of it.

“You are their hope, Serenity. If they see you beside me, they know they will be taken care of and they can sleep at night.
” he paused, his eyes soft but intense on hers. Telling her the truth was risky, in a way; she might take this to be an admission of his needing her and attempt to use it against him – poor move on her part, but a possible move, nonetheless. He hoped she saw it the way he intended – that she needed to go out there for the people of the planet that she adored so fiercely, for their mental as well as physical health and safety. He shook his head slightly, “You don’t even have to smile.Seeing her would be all that was necessary; people would assume she still had her powers and would be able to stop further wrongdoings; while some might take it to mean she had swapped sides, others might understand it to be a peace term – that she had stopped the fighting or convinced him to keep the people of Earth alive. He would marginally gain their trust, while utterly dashing whatever hopes the remaining Senshi had for rallying the people. He needed her in there tonight, and while he would prefer she come willingly (well, as willingly as he was likely to get at this point) in order to form some sort of connection or understanding with her, he was not above sedating her and using the Dark Crystal’s power to make it appear she came in of her own free will.

You can't prove that I was Sailor Moon.. She told him as she turned to look at him. Her hand that was grabbing her dress relaxed slightly, feeling a bit better knowing that his plan could backfire. He couldn't prove anything, she didn't have her broach or her crystal..no way to prove what he was saying, so she didn't see how his plan for the people of the world to feel comforted by her presence would work but...good, let it blow up in his face. It would be a small victory to her. I'm just a girl to them Diamond...just Serena Shields, someone you kidnapped and forced here against her will and used her child as a ransom....Seems you didn't think of everything.
