(this continues after Serena left the 'party')
The trek back to the room she had come from...Serena refused to say 'her room' because it wasn't hers. She was not going to be here that long because Darien and the girls would find a way to rescue her. It had been three days, they had to be close to some kind of plan, right? Of course they were, Serena believed in them and she knew they wouldn't leave her here, they would find a way, they had all dealt with the impossible before and this was just like those times. Even if she did believe that she still needed to get back to that room and it had been almost impossible. Serena had not been paying attention when Diamond escorted her to his party, her mind having been elsewhere but now she wished she had. It took a while but eventually Serena found her way back with the help of some of the servants and once she reached the doors she quickly went inside and shut and locked them, even if it would do nothing she was sure if one of them wanted in here it was still a small feeling of security.
After the door was closed and locked she leaned against it and let out a shaking sigh, letting go of all the anxiety she had been holding in since this horrible day had started. That whole experience with the coronation and party had been horrible...Serena had never felt so helpless in her life, there had to be something she could have done...some kind of way around Diamonds threat but....
Slowly she slid her hand across her stomach and she knew the answer. Even if there was Serena could not....would not risk it. The baby was too precious and she had to protect it and if this was what she had to do to make sure it stayed safe then so be it. Just a little longer, just a little bit longer and then she would be rescued and wouldn't have to worry about Diamonds threat anymore.
Just a little bit longer Serena said out loud while pushing herself off of the door, needing to hear the words spoken. As she pushed herself up from the wall her head looked up and around the perfect and pristine room. All the mess she had made before was gone, the broken things fixed and replaced. It looked like nothing had happened. As her blue eyes swept over it all a small twinge of guilt came over her, whoever Diamond had clean must have resented her...had she of known then Serena wouldn't have done that or at least she would have helped. She would just have to find out who got rid of her mess and thank them for it later, making friends with the people that worked inside the palace might be the only way she had to cling to the outside world and Serena didn't want to pass that up.
Leaving the door she walked back toward the closet so she could find something else to wear and get out of this dress and as she walked she passed a floor length mirror on the wall and it made her pause. The reflection that looked back at her looked like a ghost. Serena had known she had changed but actually seeing it was another story. She stopped in front of the mirror and took herself in. Her hair, her body, her face....the birthmark. This was all wrong. Serena was not supposed to take over as Queen until after her 22nd birthday, she was supposed to live a little bit of a normal life with Darien and their baby until that happened but not now. She didn't even understand how this change in her happened, the Silver Crystal wasn't with her...it was in her locket somewhere out there and never before had a change like this happened without it. How did Diamond do it? How could he have known that it would have worked?
As her eyes took in everything they drifted to her head and there, starring back at her in the mirror was the crown Diamond had placed on her and the large blackish purple gem that gave off a sinister gleam. Serena didn't have to guess, she had seen it enough in her past to know what the Dark Crystal looked like...was that the reason why she changed? When he put the crown on her a sickening feeling washed over her and she had felt weak..even more so than what she had before. The Dark Crystal had done that before; when Diamond had captured her the first time..it had drained the power of the Silver Crystal and made it so she couldn't transform so whats to say that he couldn't manipulate her to change into Serenity? After all, Neo Queen Serenity was the reason for all of this, she was the object of all of Diamonds obsession..it was only logical that he would want her to look like the Queen now that he had her.
The longer she stood there and looked at the crown the more she started to feel weak and sick. Quickly Serena reached up her hand and grabbed the crown, ripping it off of her head and throwing it aside and far from her. With the crown off she instantly felt better, it felt like she could breathe again and it didn't feel like there was a heaviness hanging on her. With that off she turned and walked into the closet and began shifting through the clothes inside. It took a while but eventually she found a modest looking nightgown and robe set in a light pink color and she took it out and laid it on the bed. She had already decided that she was done tonight and if Diamond needed her for anything else he was going to have to deal with her in her pajamas because Serena had had enough.
Before she changed however she walked around the large four poster bed and to the vanity where she sat down and began taking off the makeup and jewelry. Slowly Serena set about the task, feeling no need to rush since she had no where to be and nothing to do now, her life would consist of sitting in this room until she was rescued so why try to do anything fast? Even if she wanted to she couldn't because every few minutes she kept getting distracted by her reflection and the mark on her forehead, it still puzzling her how it happened and why, if it did couldn't she use her power to get out of this? Too many questions for her overworked brain right now.
Eventually, thou the makeup was off and just as she was reaching up to take off the earring on her left ear the door to her room burst open. Serena did not jump, she had been expecting him to follow after her eventually. Remaining where she was she looked in the mirror and saw Diamond walk into her room like he was one a mission. Whatever he had to say to her could wait till tomorrow, she had had enough of him for one night.
